College Application Essays
The college application process can be overwhelming for both student and parent. During this precious time of your child’s final years in high school, there’s no need to be butting heads over an essay. Whether your teen lacks confidence in English composition skills or just prefers to have someone outside of the family review his/her essay, I’m here to help. I’ll offer tips on how to strengthen the essay without altering your child’s voice in the process. When the essay is submitted to me, I’ll look for mistakes that stand out as obvious errors and demonstrate how to make the necessary corrections with appropriate editing. In addition, I’ll provide feedback on how to add clarity and precision to the composition.
Services
College Application Essays (500-750 words per essay)
$80 (includes initial proofreading with suggested edits and one additional proofing after student revisions are made)
College Application Supplemental Essays (100-300 words per essay)
$40 (includes initial proofreading with suggested edits and one additional proofing after student revisions are made)
The student submits a PDF or Google Doc essay with the prompt included via e-mail. Please double-space the essay before submitting to allow room for editing marks. I’ll provide written feedback on a printed hard copy and then return the edited essay as a PDF. Allow one week for the return of each submission.
My editing services are for students who need an extra set of eyes from someone who is familiar with the college application process. While I cannot guarantee college admission, I have experience in helping other high schoolers with their essays and offer a critical eye for details as well as strategies for organization and structure.
Payments: Voucher-funded payments must be processed exclusively through the Odyssey Marketplace platform. For private-pay families, payments are accepted via Tutor Me’s Venmo business profile.
