Welcome to tutor-me-schole.com. My name is Amy Chenault, and I operate this site as a single-member LLC based in Texas. I am committed to protecting the privacy of my students and their families. This policy explains what information is collected when you visit this site and how it is used.

1. Information I Collect

When you interact with this site, I collect certain information to provide tutoring services and maintain site security.

  • Contact Forms: When you reach out via my contact form, I collect your name, email address, phone number, the name and grade level of the student requiring services, and any additional details you choose to provide in your message.
  • Comments: While comments are enabled, they are set to private. Only I can see the content of your comment and your name.
  • Payment Information: I do not collect, process, or store credit card, bank account, or financial details. When you pay for services, I only track basic business records (such as names, contact details, and charges). The actual financial transactions are handled entirely off-site through secure third-party platforms, specifically Odyssey Marketplace (via Stripe) or the Venmo platform.

2. Service Providers & Plugins

I use specific tools to keep this site functional and secure. These third parties may process your data as follows:

  • Automattic (Jetpack, Akismet, Gravatar): * Akismet helps me filter out spam from contact forms and comments.
    • Jetpack provides site statistics and security.
    • Gravatar Enhanced associates your email address with a profile picture. Because comments on this site are private and visible only to me, your Gravatar will not be displayed publicly.
  • Crowdsignal: I use Crowdsignal to power my contact forms. The data you enter is sent directly to me so I can respond to your inquiry. (Note: I do not use Crowdsignal for public polls or surveys).
  • Odyssey Marketplace (Stripe): Used for secure off-site payment processing. Financial data entered during these transactions is handled by Odyssey and Stripe according to their respective privacy policies.
  • Venmo: Used to process payments for private-pay families. Because these transactions occur entirely within the Venmo application or website, your data is subject to Venmo’s privacy practices. You can review the Venmo Privacy Statement on their website for details.
  • Apple iCloud: Used for secure cloud storage of business records, including spreadsheets that track student contact details and billing histories. You can review Apple’s privacy policy to see how they secure cloud data. 

3. How I Use Your Information

I use the information you provide strictly for:

  • Responding to your tutoring inquiries.
  • Scheduling and managing tutoring sessions.
  • Processing payments for services rendered.
  • Protecting the site from spam and malicious activity.

I do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes.

4. Data Retention

I retain contact form submissions, session inquiries, and business spreadsheets containing names and transaction histories for as long as necessary to provide tutoring services or as required by Texas business record-keeping standards. These records are stored securely within my password-protected iCloud account.

5. Your Rights

Since this is a Texas-based business, I aim to respect your control over your data. You may contact me at any time to:

  • Request a copy of the data I have about you.
  • Request that I delete your personal information (provided it is not required for ongoing legal or billing purposes).
